So, I ran into this problem yesterday evening…
I went to the Mailboxes overview on my iPhone (don’t remember why) and found an entry called “Outbox” right beneath all of my regular inboxes. The “message counter” to the right of this entry showed the number 12 – meaning: “I contain 12 messages that you meant to send out – which I didn’t without telling you about it!”

1. Let me use the lock screen to display info (such as my calendar).
2. Use the text to speech feature to tell me who’s calling me.
3. Let me choose custom notification sounds.
4. Let me choose different notification sounds for new mail in different mail accounts.
5. Let me set up mail/ sms text notification sounds for my contacts – just like it is already possible for phone numbers.

Many people are having problems with the latest update of the Facebook App for their iPhone.
I didn’t get down to the “why this works” as of now, however, here’s the fix:
1. Go to Cydia and uninstall the package iphonedelivery. This package comes with biteSMS and allows you to receive a report (in form of a green check mark) whenever a SMS text message you sent away is really being sent.
2. Go to SBsettings -> More -> Mobile Substrate Addons and disable biteSMSsb.
Reboot(!) the iPhone. Everything should work again. Have fun.
UPDATE:
I just found out that I’m not the first person to figure this out.
Well… just take this as my part of a double-blind-test.

Erinnert sich noch jemand daran, wie T-Mobile das iPhone 3GS beworben hat? Richtig: “Das schnellste iPhone aller Zeiten”.
Jetzt ist das iPhone 4 auf dem Markt. Und es ist unbestreitbar in allen Belangen deutlich schneller als sein Vorgänger.
Kann man der Telekom da irgendwie ans Bein pinkeln? Immerhin hat sie nachweislich gelogen. “Aller Zeiten” heißt eben auch _aller_ Zeiten.
Nur mal so zum drüber Nachdenken und als kleine Idee für die Juristen mit zuviel Zeit unter meinen Lesern.

Nicht wie im Apple-Tracking angegeben am 01.09.2010 sondern bereits heute wurde mir mein Gratis-Bumper für das iPhone4 geliefert.
Der erste Eindruck ist durchweg positiv. Der Bumper macht das Gerät nur wenig dicker. Dafür verbessert er die Handhabung ungemein. Meines Erachtens liegt das iPhone 4 ohnhein schon besser in der Hand als der Vorgänger, das iPhone 3GS. Aber wenn ich das Gerät mit spitzen Fingern (insbesondere wenn die Finger nicht ganz so spitz sind und an Händen hängen, die groß wie Klodeckel sind) im “Breitbildformat” halte, um einen Film oder Fotos aufzunehmen, setzt doch recht schnell ein Gefühl von “Oha, bloß nicht fallen lassen!” ein.
Mit dem Bumper habe ich einen wesentlich sichereren Griff.
Wo andere Schutzhüllen Aussparungen für die Lauter-/Leiserknöpfe und den An-/Ausschalter bieten, hat Apple metallerne Knöpfe auf dem Bumper angebracht, was dazu führt, dass die Kontrollelemente trotz des Bumpers noch immer leicht erhaben und somit blind bedienbar sind.
Schade ist, dass das iPhone 4 mit Bumper nicht mehr in das Original iPhone 4 Dock passt. Ärgerlich. So muss ich mir wohl, sollte ich mich nach ein paar Tagen dafür entschieden haben, den Bumper ständig einzusetzen, überlegen, wie ich da Dock verkaufen kann – und werde mir dann wohl das Apple Universal Dock anschaffen müssen.
Ebenfalls schade ist, dass das iPhone 4 mit Bumper nicht mehr in meine KFZ-Halterung passt. Okay, diese ist für das iPhone 3GS konzipiert und es ist wohl eher “Zufall”, dass auch das iPhone 4 einen recht sicheren Halt darin hat. Aber trotzdem. Hier kommt es mir sehr gelegen, dass ich mich “damals” für ein modulares System entschieden habe: KFZ-Halterungs-Arm inkl. Saugnapf für die Windschutzscheibe + austauschbare Halterung für verschiedene Geräte. Diese Halteschalen sind für ca. 5€/Stück zu bekommen – und es ist wohl nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis es entsprechende Halterungen für das iPhone4 inkl. Bumper geben wird.
Fazit? Der Bumper ist ein schickes und sicherlich nützliches Teil, das aber keinesfalls die von Apple verlangten 29€ wert ist. Für 10€ hätte ich’s vielleicht aber sogar gekauft.

This is absolutely NOT worth reading if you’re looking for any kind of information! It’s something like my own, personal bingo card for this year’s WWDC.
1. New iPhone (Probability: 99,9999999999%)
No secret. Steve Jobs will present the iPhone 3GS’s successor. Period. If not, those present will jump the stage and will make sure that he’ll need another liver after the presentation. Bonus points for me if Steve should decide to present the new iPhone as an encore, his famous “one more thing.
2. New Mac Mini (20%)
The Mac Mini, in its latest iteration, is already 230 days old. An upgrade should be right ahead. Thus, it’s very likely that Steve will present the new model. On the other hand: the new Mac Mini won’t be revolutionary in any kind of way. I don’t think that the new Mac Mini will be WWDC-Keynote-worthy. The new iMacs and the new MacBook and the new MacBookPros all were silently upgraded, too.
